Have you ever visited an online store and found your favorite bottle of perfume for a ridiculously low price and decided to buy it? How many times have you received that special package in the mail and realized that even though the bottle looks the same, the perfume within smells like something that you would normally have cleaned the toilet with? If this is you then you could have fallen prey to the vicious market of fraud perfumes.
Fraud perfumes are everywhere these days. They are on the internet on bad websites, hidden within the genuine bottles at online auction sites and even in the market stalls that we walk past every day. With perfume being one of the most expensive fashion accessories on the market, there is a very profitable black market and this applies to most of the luxuries in life.
The trick is not to fall prey of these so called fantastic deals and to be wary. The old motto “too good to be true” really does apply and especially in such a competitive market as the perfume industry. Counterfeit perfumes will generally come in a bottle that is the same as or very similar to the one that it would usually come in but will generally smell very different and can even contain compounds that could be harmful to your health! Surely saving a few pounds is not worth that?
There are a few ways to buy perfume online and not get caught out. First of all only buy from reputable places. There are many department stores that take advantage of the internet and sell perfumes for a discounted cost so why not take advantage of these? If you are buying from online auction sites, always look at the seller’s feedback and ask if you are not sure. Remember, if the seller doesn’t declare that the item is genuine, the chances are it’s probably not!
